This delightful Brussels Griffon mix is a dream dog! Just about a year old and perhaps 25-30 pounds, Corky loves to play with other dogs, but is even more a people-dog, offering kisses in exchange for tummy rubs. Great on the leash and a good walker, Corky listens well, comes when you call him, and is quickly learning his manners. Corky would enjoy the company of a quieter couple who would cherish him and treat him kindly. He is uncomfortable with lots of noise and activity, so we will place him in a home with adults only. We have no idea how he would be with cats.

With those beautiful eyes, Monty could be People magazine's Sexiest Dog Alive! He's a Spitz-terrier mix, about 3 years old and 20-ish pounds. And what a Lady's Man! He loves women immediately, but it takes an introduction or two for him to be comfortable with unfamiliar men. We will therefore only place him with a couple (NO children) willing to give him this extra introductory attention. In every other way, he's a magnificent dog. He's so entertaining and smart, luxuriates when being brushed, he's been known to watch where his favorite toy is hidden, and then when [he thinks that] no one is watching, he meanders over to the desk, opens the drawer with his paw and removes the toy! He's great on the leash, is very generous with his kisses (little bites on your nose), and truly wants to please.

This is Newton, also affectionately referred to as "Figgy." Figgy is 1-2 years old, about 10 lbs, and because he is still very puppy-ish, he's extremely energetic. Figgy loves kissing and cuddling with women, toys, treats, rides in the car, and most other dogs. He is a fabulous fetch and frisbee dog, and would benefit from obedience classes to channel his energy. Figgy Newton seems to fear strange men in home environments, so his new family (NO children) must be willing to work with him to correct this behavior.

Pitbull
Female, approx 1-yr
We named her Sunny, because she is absolutely a beam of sunshine. This smiley, happy girl exemplifies all that is good about the Pitbull breed. She is happy, obedient, smart, and loyal. She listens well, hanging on your every word, and she's learning her commands very quickly. She loves human attention, and she plays well with the other dogs in the kennel. She's got some energy for sure, but she has amazing self-discipline, and is able to control herself and respond to commands, even when she's all excited. Also, with a bit of fetch and chase, she's ready to settle down and focus on the more serious job of just being by your side. But her most striking quality is her beautiful face, and the way she looks at you for your approval and love. She is a dog that wants to please, and that shines through in her expression.

Boxer
Male, approx 3-years
Don't be fooled by the looks of this big, brown Boxer. Whoever owned him initially, cropped his ears and tail to give him a menacing look, but he's actually a friendly, happy dog, once he gets to know you. Bubba, whom we affectionately also call Bubba Gump, Bubba Louie, and Bubba-booey, exhibits more of the look common to the older-style Boxers that were used for work or pulling. He's a big, broad dude, and actually pretty strong, but he's really not that active. (He could perhaps lose a few pounds). An all-out sprint for Bubba would be a saunter for any other dog. He enjoys a walk, but seems to prefer just hanging around, so long as he gets to hang around with you. He's really a companion dog and just wants to be beside his Bubba-Buddy, riding in the car, hanging out in the yard while you get things done. He's good with other dogs, but mostly indifferent, so he'll do best as an only dog. Given his strength and appearance, we'd also rather place him with someone who has big-dog experience.
